Tea with Miss Oklahoma

Our tea party benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals was beyond what I had hoped for. We had a great time, and we raised money for an amazing organization! Several of our guests, including my family, have had a loved one that has spent time in a CMN Hospital and we are so blessed to have had so much support and such an incredible turnout!

Busy Little Bee

I’ve been on the go almost non stop with school visits, pageants and tea parties!

I had the opportunity to speak at Stilwell Middle School and High School, Del Crest Middle School, Sasakwa Middle School and High School, Allen Bowden Elementary and Middle School, and Blackwell Middle School.

I was also invited to attend a 4th and 5th grade girls tea party/luncheon for Homer Elementary in Ada. WOW! I am so grateful that this was the year they decided to invite Miss Oklahoma. These young ladies couldn’t have been more excited for this event. They looked beautiful in their Sunday best dresses!

I was on the road for another 5 days to Weatherford and back for a wonderful time. I had 4 school visits on Thursday, 4 on Friday, rehearsals and then the Miss SWOSU pageant on Saturday night. They were so wonderful to me the entire time I was in Weatherford and truly treated me like royalty!

Goin’ Places That I’ve Never Been Before…

A fun few days on the road to Durant. I went to Wapanucka, Colbert, Durant Intermediate, Washington Irving and Northwest Heights!

“Where Your Story Began”

I had the opportunity to come back for “America’s Greatest Homecoming Celebration” at Oklahoma State University. This year’s Sea of Orange Parade and Homecoming theme was “Where Your Story Began” which is fitting for me in more than one way. Not only have I been a Cowboy fan ALL of my life and all of my siblings attended OSU, but Miss OSU was my first local title in 2009, so it was where my Miss Oklahoma story began as well.

Riding in the Homecoming Parade with my Oklahoma Stars, Delaney and Grace. My little angel, Snowflake, was quite a hit in her OSU cheer outfit and tiara!

I love this job!

I remember when Lauren Nelson asked me on my News 9 interview, “what are you looking forward to most?” I told her that I couldn’t wait to get into the schools…and now that I’ve been in the schools and on the go almost non stop I realize that I was exactly right. I absolutely LOVE the school visits! Traveling all over the great state of Oklahoma, especially during this time of year is truly a blessing.Β  I have really enjoyed meeting so many different students and getting the opportunity to hear their unique stories. This really is a once in a lifetime experience.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation reaching millions of Americans during the last week of October every year. By wearing red ribbons and participating in community anti-drug events, young people pledge to live a drug-free life and pay tribute to DEA Special Agent EnriquΓ© β€œKiki” Camarena.

This week I’ll be in schools placing even larger emphasis on drug and alcohol awareness and prevention than I do in a typical school visit. This week I’ll be participating in Red Ribbon Week at Olive Pubic Schools, Norwood Public Schools, Wanpanucka Public Schools, Colbert High School, Durant Public Schools, Washington Irving School, Northwest Heights Elementary, and Holmes Elementary. Busy butΒ Β  amazing week ahead. So blessed to be Miss Oklahoma 2011!

A Wonderful Day!

Miss Oklahoma 2009, Taylor Treat Burget and I took miss Lauryn out for a fun lunch and then off to Pinkitzel! She absolutely loved the candy/cupcake shop and we loved spending the day with her. πŸ™‚ I’m truly grateful for the partnership between CMNH and Miss America for allowing me to meet Lauryn and her mom. They are so inspiring.

Pageants!

This week I performed at Miss NOC and then went into Stillwater for a busy few days.
On Wednesday, I visited Pre-K/Kindergarten at the OSU Child Development Lab where I read a book and had snack time. From there I went to my wonderful OSU Reception where I was officially “welcomed home.” Then it was time for Miss OSU rehearsals!
On Thursday I did an OSU promo shoot in Old Central for an Alumni Ad. I had dinner with the OSU board and judges and was off to emcee Miss OSU.
What a fun few days!

Dairy Max Radio Promo

I had the opportunity to go down to Dallas for a radio voice over for a Dairy Max ad that will play across the state! What was even more exciting was that the studio I recorded it at was the same one that Willie Nelson went to!
