In the weeks leading up to Miss Oklahoma 2012, I had some really fun and memorable appearances. In mid-May I traveled to Wisconsin for the National Dairy Club Meeting at Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy. Pagel’s is the largest family owned operation in the state of Wisconsin milking over 4,000 cows! I had the opportunity to share my story of how growing up on the farm and all of my involvement in the dairy industry has led me to where I am today as well as emphasizing the importance of promoting the dairy industry today. From Wisconsin I flew into Minnesota and spoke to the 65+ Princess Kay of the Milky Way contestants about using their position to serve as an ambassador for the dairy industry. I thoroughly enjoyed both appearances and was thrilled to receive more invitations for speaking engagements after I give up the Miss O crown!

The following week I had the opportunity co-host “All About You” on Ok-52! The next few days were spent taping my farewell, final dress fittings and my final presentation to our amazing Kiwanis Club of Tulsa! On the Tuesday and Wednesday before Miss Oklahoma week, I drove to Springfield, Missouri for the “Dairy Days Camp.” This was a 4-H camp for youth ages 9-18 from Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri and Arkansas. I spoke about my involvement inthe dairy industry and how it helped me in my role as Miss Oklahoma.

It was a great way to end my year as Miss Oklahoma with several appearances, especially since they were directly tied to my platform and what I am most passionate about! I have been so blessed this year!
