I can’t believe that I leave for the MISS AMERICA PAGEANT a week from Wednesday! This is one of the most exciting feelings that I’ve ever had….to know that I am about to have a truly once in a lifetime experience. My days until I leave are crucial…the packing begins, ensuring I have EVERYTHING organized, dance rehearsals everyday, keeping up with my daily fitness routine, and of course, interview prep! My send off party is on Thursday! I can’t wait to show all of my friends and family my wardrobe and how hard I’ve been working to prepare.

I’m so excited to see all of my Miss America sisters, and VERY excited that I have so many friends and family coming to support me in Vegas! It has truly been an honor and a blessing to serve as Miss Oklahoma for almost 6 months now. I have the most amazing support system here in Oklahoma, from our wonderful MOP board to all of our volunteers, our local contestants and directors and of course, my family! I can’t imagine being Miss O without them. I also know that no matter what God has planned for me on January 14, I will be happy and blessed. His will is at work in my life!

    Hi Betty,

I don’t think we’ve ever met other than “maybe” at a family reunion in years past (but so many people it’s hard to remember!), but I’m your Mom’s first cousin once removed (son of Leveda Faulkner who is daughter of Selena Marcotte Carroll, my grandmother, who was your Grandfather Leonard’s sister…so Uncle Leonard, as I knew him, was my great uncle and brother to my “Memme”)…….anyway, I just wanted you to know that I have everyone I know here in Tennessee voting for you! My mom told me about the pageant!

Leonard’s son, Ricky (your uncle) and I grew up knowing each other really well and he has come to stay with my wife and kids several times when he’d come to Nashville to do music business. And I loved his dad a ton…Uncle Leonard was always really fun with us kids. I used to spend all my summer’s working on my grandparents farm and Ricky and your granddad would come over and visit or help or to fish.

Soooo, GOOD LUCK and we’ll be cheering for you! If you’re ever in Nashville, we drink A LOT of milk and always have some in the ‘frig! πŸ˜‰

    Cheers,

Mark, Sue, Shannon, Joseph, Matt, and Peter Faulkner

CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING FIRST RUNNER UP!!! Also, congratulations on being picked as a semifinalist by the public. I think this says a lot more because it shows that the general public liked you. I was also impressed with your Irish Step Dancing. Now this says a lot coming from a person with Glaswegian blood running through his veins but, it’s Celtic. I smiled when the banner at the bottom of the screen said that you drive around in a pickup truck with lifters (The first truck I owned was a red 1976 F150 stick with 4 wheel drive that I could only drive on my property. Nothing beats a stick).

Look, enjoy being Miss Oklahoma. Enjoy being in your twenties. Life is so short. Continue to reach for the stars.

You should have won. I was rooting for you from the beginning of the show when I first saw you. You are SO beautiful! I could have just watched you for the entire 2 hours. I really was impressed with the footwork in your dance routine also, that must take quite some time to learn. I guess I just wanted you to know that you definitely are the peoples choice.
I also saw that you drive a lifted truck. What kind of truck is it? I would love to see some pics of you and your truck or even more of just you. (Did I mention how HOT you are?)
Anyway, I guess I have gone on long enough for just some fan that saw you on TV. I wish you happiness in all you do and hope your dreams come true.
