A very exciting part about my platform is working with Southwest Dairy Farmers and the Mobile Dairy Classroom. This gives me the opportunity to show students that milk doesn’t come from a grocery store. It comes from healthy, happy cows that are taken care of on a farm very much like Miss Oklahoma’s! We talk about what the cow eats, how we clean the cow AND the equipment to ensure that our milk is always clean, where the milk goes after it leaves the cow, how the milk truck takes it to a plant where it is pasteurized (heated to kill any bacteria) and then bottled and shipped to a store! Chances are if you have had milk from Hiland Milk near Lincoln County, you’ve drank milk from my cows!
